Recognition AlohaThe Joy of Service in Action Hawaii Community Foundation’s Officer for Kaua`i, Nani Larsen, retired in late 2005. A generous mahalo for her many years of service, in particular helping the Kaua`i Aloha Endowment get established as a fund at HCF. Deborah Rice is HCF’s new Officer for Kauai and brings much experience from her previous work with a community foundation on the mainland. In late June we had a special meeting facilitated by Amy Luersen, HCF’s Senior Program Officer for Education and Community Building. She skillfully guided the Advisors to develop more specific guidelines for the 2006 version of the Kaua`i Aloha Endowment Fund Request Application which will be mailed to nonprofits in September. Grant proposals will be reviewed in December. |
