Grant Giving
January, 2007 update:
Kaua`i Aloha Endowment is pleased to announce the award of its first grant. On January 25, 2007, the award of $10,250.00 was presented to Joyce and Ed Doty of Na Aina Kai Botanical Garden, supporting a Hawaiian sculpture called Kuamoo in the newly created Ahupua‘a located near the Garden’s entrance. The Ahupua‘a honors and perpetuates the ancient Hawaiian system of life. The Endowment recognizes this key element of Hawaiian culture and lifestyle and therefore is proud to support the efforts of Na Aina Kai in this meaningful acknowledgement of the Ahupua‘a. Kaua`i Aloha Endowment selected this project as its first recipient to particularly note and recognize the importance of the Hawaiian host culture.
We extend a sincere mahalo nui loa to all who have supported the Endowment thus far. We encourage you to regularly help grow this unique Endowment, thereby providing larger grants in the years ahead. Also, a key way you can support Kaua`i Aloha Endowment in the long term is through planned giving, shared in this flyer.
