Structure

Kauai Aloha Endowment was established in November, 2000, as a component fund of the Hawaii Community Foundation (HCF), a statewide nonprofit dedicated to helping people make a difference by inspiring the spirit of giving and by investing in people and solutions to benefit every island community. HCF ranks among the 30 largest community foundations out of 600 across the nation. It has over $388 million in charitable assets and annually distributes more than $30 million in grants to nonprofit organizations and scholarships to students.

• When the Kauai Aloha Endowment fund principal reaches $5 million, or more, we will have the ability to create a separate, Kauai-based Endowment to continue the work, the vision.

• Kauai Aloha Endowment is a vehicle of unification and expression of our gratitude and abundance. It has been established to empower Kauaians to Protect, Preserve and Enhance Kauai's Island Treasures...Today, Tomorrow and Forever.

• A Committee of Advisors oversees the Endowment. They are: Susan Kanoho, Maryanne Kusaka, Michael Murakoshi, Stephanie Kaluahine Reid and Bodhinatha Veylanswami. Mayor Bryan Baptiste is Honorary Chairman.

• A nonprofit, Friends of Kauai Aloha Endowment, was established on Kauai in May 2002 to create operating funds and assist the Endowment in reaching its goals.
